Exploring The Village at Mammoth

There’s no better time to visit Mammoth Lakes than during the autumn months. It’s warm enough to play golf, fish, and hike; and it’s cool enough to shop for new winter sports gear. Snowcreek Resort is a short distance from The Village at Mammoth so you can see all of the things to do in Mammoth Lakes. You and your family will love the great variety of shops and restaurants right at your fingertips.

Mammoth Lakes Shopping

The Village at Mammoth offers a wide variety of excellent shopping. Whether you’re looking for snow gear, a date night outfit, or outdoor toys for your children, you’ll find it here! Most shops in The Village are owned by locals and have a great staff full of people who are excited to meet you! They say money can’t buy happiness, but perhaps a souvenir or two will. Start your shopping adventure by visiting the following shops.

  1. Footloose Sports: Opened in 1981, Footloose Sports sells premier sporting goods, primarily specializing in skiing and cycling equipment. Footloose Sports has a demo program so you can try out the material before buying it. Be sure to test our their legendary boot fitting services.

  2. Wave Rave Snowboard Shop: Visit one of the first shops in America dedicated to snowboarding! Store owner and ‘extreme skateboarder,’ Steve Klassen, is involved in growing skateboarding in Mammoth Lakes. If your vacation lands in summer months, check out his annual kids’ skateboarding camp and tournament, which is co-hosted with Mammoth Lakes Parks and Recreation Department.

  3. Alpine Approach: For some high-end outdoor apparel and footwear, check out Alpine Approach. They carry well-known brands such as Patagonia, Icebreaker, Arc’teryx, and more!

  4. Roma Boutique: Sierra Design Studio not only sells beautiful furnishings and accessories, but it’s also home to the lavish store, Roma Boutique. Brands including Bogner Skiwear and Miss Me Jeans can be found inside. Another great store for fashion-forward clothing is Tonik. They carry brands such as Free People, Lucky, and Steve Madden.

  5. Mammoth Fun Shop: Depending on who you ask, Mammoth Fun Shop is the best toy store around. There’s a bundle of joy for everyone, from traditional wooden toys to sewen puppets, wild crafts, and much more! End your trip to the toy store with a dish of premium ice cream, complete with free toppings.

Mammoth Lakes Restaurants

You’re bound to work up an appetite after endless games of golf, hikes, and fishing trips. Even if your stomach isn’t gurgling quite yet, you’ll find it challenging to pass a restaurant, smell their mouth-watering aromas, and not walk inside. Luckily, The Village at Mammoth offers some of the best restaurants around including Bear Creek Pizza, Campo Mammoth, Gomez’s Mexican Restaurant, or Lakanuki. We know you’ll want to come back again!
